Reigning Miss World Rolene Strauss was one of the special guests at the Miss World Jamaica 2015 Final this Saturday.
During her weeklong visit to the tropical island nation as a special guest of the Miss Jamaica World Organisation, Rolene visited Beauty with a Purpose projects, Jamaica’s iconic beauty spots, and met various dignitaries.
She then graced the Saturday’s big finale held at Montego Bay Convention Centre, St James, where Sanneta Myrie, 24, was crowned Miss World Jamaica 2015.
Speaking to the press after her victory, she said: “As Miss Jamaica World 2015, I hope to break down the stereotype of beauty and inspire young Jamaicans to dare to reach for their brightest dreams regardless of hair, texture, skin colour and social background.”
By being crowned Miss World Jamaica 2015, Sanneta won the ticket to compete at Miss World 2015 in Sanya, China later this year.
Speaking of her experiences in Jamaica, Rolene said: “Jamaica has been so good to me; the people are giving and caring. I fell in love with their beautiful beaches, traditional foods and music. I can’t wait to return!”
